Root Canal treatment is a dental procedure for treating the tooth mobility. In root canal dental treatment the diseased or damaged blood vessels and nerve in the centre of the tooth is removed and the inside areas are filled and sealed which then decreases the chances of tooth loss.

Procedure of Root Canal Treatment : A Root Canal treatment is performed under local anesthesia in which a thin sheet of rubber is placed first in the mouth to isolate the tooth. The tooth decay is then removed and an opening through the natural crown of the tooth into the pulp chamber is then made. This access also relieves the pressure inside the tooth and thus eases pain. Length of root canal is determined with a series of X rays the entire canal space of diseased pulp tissue and bacteria are then cleaned with the usage of small wire like files.
These canals are then enlarged and shaped for receiving a filling material. Dentist may leave the tooth open to drain or a temporary seal on the tooth post this process. Once these canals are cleansed thoroughly they are filled with a sealer material for preventing any bacterial infection entering the tooth in the future.
Post root canal treatment for curing dental problem of toothache the tooth may be sore for several days. This pain can be relieved by using certain pain relievers prescribed by the dentist also washing the mouth with hot salt water can be effective for the patient.
